The LilyPad Arduino 328 Main Board is an Arduino-programmed microcontroller that's been engineered for easy integration into your wearable electronics. Built around the ATmega328 with an Arduino bootloader it offers the exact same functionality you expect from standard Arduino boards but in a specialized lightweight circular package. By eliminating sharp corners and minimizing its physical profile this board is designed to prevent snagging on threads and lay perfectly flat against your garments.Plenty of I/O for Wearable ProjectsIf your e-textile design needs many sensors or LEDs this board offers the highest pin count in the LilyPad lineup. It breaks out every available pin on the ATmega328 giving you access to 14 digital I/O pins and six analog inputs. Because there's no built-in battery connector you will need to connect a power supply directly to the positive and negative pins. We highly recommend pairing this microcontroller with the LilyPad Simple Power board for the best experience. Together these two boards provide a dedicated LiPo battery connection and charging circuit for your project.Sewable E-Textile DesignLilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. To ensure these components integrate seamlessly into your wardrobe (no pun intended) LilyPad boards rely on some specific hardware choices:Sewable Tabs: The LilyPad Arduino 328 Main Board features 22 large conductive connecting pads that let you communicate with and power the board then stitch it directly into fabric using conductive thread.Minimal Hardware: Uses the fewest external components to keep the design as simple and small as possible while maintaining full Arduino functionality.Low-Profile Build: Measures 50mm in outer diameter on a thin 0.8mm PCB this board can be sewn to lay on or inside of your garments.Washable Hardware: Built to survive real-world use your finished clothing can be carefully washed without ruining the electronics.Simply connect this main board to your computer via an FTDI interface and you'll be able to write and upload custom code to bring fully interactive sensor-driven behaviors directly to your wardrobe.
