Detect ambient light levels with the simple and effective SparkFun TEMT6000 Ambient Light Sensor Breakout. This board makes it easy to integrate a sensor that "sees" light much like the human eye.The TEMT6000 sensor's sensitivity is tuned to match human vision as closely as possible making it ideal for projects that need to respond to room brightness. It works like a light-controlled transistor: as incoming light increases the sensor's output provides a proportionally higher analog voltage. Connect the signal pin to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) on your favorite microcontroller to read the value.This breakout provides a straightforward no-frills interface to the sensor making it ideal for applications like automatic display brightness adjustment sleep/wake triggers for low-power projects or detecting day/night conditions.
