Full description
While most microcontrollers only simulate an analog voltage using Pulse Width Modulation this breakout board allows you to generate a true analog signal. The SparkFun MCP4725 Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) Breakout provides accurate 12-bit analog voltage output via I2C and features onboard EEPROM to store settings even after power loss. This makes it a great choice for a wide variety of electronics projects where standard digital signals can't quite give you what you need.Designed for Easy UseThis version of the MCP4725 Breakout updates the board's overall footprint to make the mounting holes much easier to use. As a result a few parts have shifted on the board but the overall functionality remains the same.Complete Access: All pins are broken out to 0.1-inch pitch headers providing convenient connectivity options for prototyping and experimentation. This gives you easy access to VCC SCL SDA multiple GND pins and the Signal OUT pin.Easy Probing: The dedicated Signal OUT and GND pins are grouped together. Connecting an oscilloscope or other testing equipment directly to the board is very easy.Multiple Devices: If you plan to run multiple DACs on the same I2C bus the onboard pull-up resistors can be easily disabled by cutting the traces on the jumper pad on the back of the board.Whether you are building a custom synthesizer or replacing a PWM signal with a smooth sine wave this breakout board gives your microcontroller a source of true analog voltage controlled via a simple I2C interface.
