Magnetic Door Switch Set

This Magnetic Door Switch Set is a small reed switch assembly that alerts you when doors drawers or other openings open. These types of switches are primarily used in home security systems. One half of the assembly mounts on a window or door frame and the other attaches to the window or door itself. When the switch set is separated the contact breaks and triggers an alarm.When the magnet pieces come within 20mm of each other they complete the circuit through the internal reed switches. Each Magnetic Door Switch set can accept a maximum voltage of 100V at 500mA. Each set is also housed in durable ABS plastic and with the included screws can easily mount to most surfaces.Reed switches are magnetically actuated electrical switches (not magically actuated though it seems that way sometimes). When the switch body is exposed to a magnetic field like a magnet or even a strong electrical current two ferrous materials inside pull together the connection closes and current can flow. Without a magnetic field the switch opens as does the circuit it's part of.
