These shrouded, JST XH-style male connectors match the female connector on the 2-pin female XH-style cable:

Female connector on the NiMH battery packs.

These disconnectable crimp-style connectors snap together securely.

The 2.5 mm pin spacing is close to the standard 0.1" grid spacing on many perfboards, so these units can readily be substituted for 2-pin male headers.
